Welcome to Our Almshouse Community

An Almshouse is a special form of housing that provides safe, affordable, and independent living for older people in need. Living in an almshouse offers peace of mind, a supportive community, and access to high-quality accommodation in a welcoming environment.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be 60 years of age or over
  • Not own a property in the UK or abroad
  • Have lived in Beverley, Woodmansey, Molescroft, Tickton, or the East Riding of Yorkshire for 10 years or more at any point in your life
  • Be in financial need (evidence will be requested at the full application stage)

Priority is always given to those with the greatest need for our high-quality independent living accommodation. Our Housing Committee reviews applications regularly, considering each with care and compassion. We also respond quickly to urgent needs and work closely with partners across the voluntary, public, and private sectors to provide support when required.
