At a community event held at the Armstrong Centre in June, Community Impact Partner Louise Babych from KCOM explained: “This service change affects all customers who want to continue using a landline, even if you already have a broadband connection. Therefore, this switchover is mandatory.”

This change to KCOM's landline service is the biggest in the company's 120-year history, with some of the current telephone networks dating back to the 1980s.

For anyone who wishes to continue using a landline, please see the following details:

✅ This switch will not cost customers a penny.

✅ Your telephone number will not change.

✅ Phone calls will sound clearer.

✅ The service will be more reliable.

✅ It’s straightforward to install.

✅ No digging in your street.

KCOM Friends and Family Trial

The KCOM Home team will be in touch with the people affected. However, residents who would like to make the switch immediately can make an appointment for an engineer to visit the property. To arrange this, please call KCOM on 01482 484272 or email kcomdiscovery@kcom.com.

Claire Scott from Beverley Housing Charity explains: “Some of our residents are concerned about the many scams doing the rounds. We would like to assure everyone that this service change is completely free of charge - the KCOM team will never ask for bank details. If a person does call saying they are from KCOM and request a payment, please do not give them any personal information and put the phone down.”
